Percentage off from two prices
How to use
- Enter the original price and the discount in percent, or tap a preset such as 20%.
- The sale price and the amount saved appear right away. Choose the rounding unit (such as 0.01 or 1) and whether to round down, to the nearest or up.
- Under "Percentage off from two prices", enter the original and sale price to see the discount rate.
Notes and limits
- Prices are plain numbers in any currency. No currency conversion is done.
- Sales tax, cashback and stacked discounts (for example 20% off and then another 10% off) are not included.
- How shops round prices varies. The default is to the nearest 0.01; change the rounding unit to match your currency or shop.
- The discount must be between 0% and 100%.
How it works
Sale price = original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100), then rounded to the chosen unit with the chosen method. Amount saved = original price − sale price.
Percentage off = (original price − sale price) ÷ original price × 100, shown to one decimal place.
FAQ
Is 20% off and then 10% off the same as 30% off?
No. On 100.00, 20% off gives 80.00, and 10% off that gives 72.00, which is 28% off in total. Calculate the two discounts one after the other.
What rounding unit should I choose?
Use 0.01 for currencies with cents, such as dollars or euros, and 1 or a larger unit for currencies without them.
Is anything I enter sent or saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.
